#InsideHBI – Welcome Ameli

#InsideHBI

Name:

Ameli Stoiber

Studies/Training:

I studied German language and literature with a minor in pedagogy. During my German studies, I focused on medieval studies and my focus was on late medieval animal fables. German literature, the German language and especially the poetry of the Middle Ages have always fascinated me.

Work experience:

During my studies, I worked as a student trainee in an editorial office and quickly realized that I enjoyed copywriting and especially writing press releases the most – so I decided to do a traineeship in PR work and use and expand my knowledge and skills there.

What surprises us most about your resume?

Many people find the internship at a funeral home surprising. Yes, that was a little dream of mine as a teenager and if I hadn’t gone to university after all, I might have started the apprenticeship – who knows! 😉

What do you expect in your first few months at HBI?

I expect to learn a lot very quickly in the first few months and gain a good understanding of public relations. I’m looking forward to working with an open-minded and friendly team and I think it is not going to be boring.

How do you imagine the PR work will be?

Chaotic, but in a good way. I imagine PR work to be dynamic and creative, and I think that one learns to react quickly as well as confidently and analytically to a wide variety of situations.

Preferred Munich activity?

In Munich, I like to go to the English Garden to read or watch the surfers. I also love to try out new restaurants or cafés: the more unusual, the better. I love to cook myself and try out recipes from all over the world, so I also visit restaurants with international cuisine.

What fascinates you most about the technology industry?

What fascinates me most about the technology sector is the rapid pace of innovation and the many ways in which it can change the future. The industry never stands still, and there are new innovations and solutions for all kinds of problems almost every day. This dynamism makes the industry very exciting.

Are you from Munich? Are you a local or a Zuagroasta?

I come from Munich – or rather, I grew up in a small community in the district. When I was of kindergarten age, my family then moved from the district to Munich. My family still speaks fluent Bavarian – as a Germanist, dialects are of course an exciting topic for me and Bavarian is a very beautiful dialect.

Most popular social media platform?

Instagram is the only “So-Me” platform that I use regularly. It can be a waste of time but also a good source for inspiration.

Do you prefer being in the city or in the countryside?

I love both – in a good balance. Life in the countryside is quiet, and that’s nice, but being able to quickly get into the big city, where you can find everything your heart desires, is the perfect combination for me. Nevertheless, I prefer to look out over wide fields and forests instead of skyscrapers.

What did you want to be when you were a child?

As a small child, I wanted to be either a vet or a hairdresser.

How do you find out about news – print or online?

Almost exclusively online. It’s simply practical and always at hand and indispensable, especially for international media.
