Name:
Clarissa Kahl
Studies/Training:
After my A-Levels, I studied sociology with a minor in media and communication studies. Then I went into radio. I completed a traineeship and became a news anchor. During my time in radio, I decided to do a distance learning course in public relations, which I completed in December 2023.
Work experience:
During my studies, I worked at SevenOne AdFactory, which is the creative department of ProsiebenSat.1 Media SE. There I was responsible for the conception and sale of special advertising formats, such as the ads for The Voice of Germany. After that I became a news anchor on the radio.
What surprises us most about your resume?
Probably my time as a radio news anchor – Now I’m sitting on the other side: I once received press releases and decided on whether to report on them, now it’s the other way around: Now I write press releases with the aim of convincing lots of journalists to report on our press releases.
What do you expect in your first months at HBI?
I expect myself to be able to empathize well with customers and the way they work and to do great and, above all, successful work for our customers with my team.
How do you imagine PR work will be?
Creative, flexible and never boring. Depending on the customer, you always need different ideas and approaches and that’s super exciting for me.
Preferred Munich activity?
I love shopping in Munich and of course strolling around the Oktoberfest in September and snacking on roasted almonds.
What fascinates you most about the technology industry?
I am fascinated by the fact that there never seems to be an end to technical developments. I am always impressed by technical innovations the possibilities offered by AI.
Are you from Munich? Are you a local or a Zuagroasta? 😉
Neither the one nor the other. I’m from a village near Fürstenfeldbruck, I know the life in the country very well and I’m fluent in Bavarian.
Most popular social media platform?
Instagram, LinkedIN, Tik Tok and still Facebook.
Do you prefer being in the city or in the country?
Definitely in the country: I love working in Munich, but the fresh air and quiet in the country is even nicer.
What did you want to be when you were a child?
I once wanted to be a singer, but my talent is only good enough for a carpool karaoke.
How do you find out about news – print or online?
Due to my time in radio, I use almost every type of medium: newspaper, television, online news services.
