#InsideHBI – Welcome Lucia!
Posted 14 Mar 2024
Name:
Lucia Galindo
Studies/Training:
In January 2024, after graduating from high school, I started a dual degree programme in Communication and PR at the IU International University Munich.
Work experience:
Apart from a few temporary jobs, I have not yet gained any in-depth professional experience. Therefore, I’m keen to have the opportunity to start my career at HBI.
What surprises us most about your resume?
I grew up on the Balearic Island of Ibiza until the age of six years. Although I didn’t get to see much of the famous party scene, I did experience its beaches and the Catalan language in kindergarten. After that I moved to the rather conservative Switzerland with my family 🙂
What do you expect in your first few months at HBI?
I am looking forward to getting in touch with the PR and marketing industry at HBI, making my first practical experiences and learning as much as possible from the friendly team.
How do you imagine PR work will be?
Definitely very demanding and stressful at times, but diverse and entertaining – I suppose. But that’s exactly what fascinates me about PR work – it’s always exciting and challenging and it teaches you a lot about life.
Preferred Munich activity?
I haven’t lived in Munich for too long and only know what the city has to offer from people’s stories. So far, I’ve really enjoyed my walks in the English Garden and I’m looking forward to more great activities in the city and the rural surroundings.
What fascinates you most about the technology industry?
In the previous centuries, a wave of innovation hit this planet and massively changed the human existence. The further it progresses, the faster and more extensive the technological changes become. They even influence the way we communicate. I am fascinated by how diverse the technology sector is and how it is constantly affecting the way we live, work, and interact. While technology can be a source of new problems, it is our only chance to solve them.
Are you from Munich? Are you a local or a Zuagroasta?
I was born in Munich, but I’ve never really lived here to this point. So now, as a Zuagroaste, I still have to find my Bavarian roots.
Most popular social media platform?
I spend the most time on Instagram. Although I hardly share anything from my own life, I do follow other active users and like to gain inspiration for all kinds of personal and professional purposes.
Do you prefer being in the city or in the countryside?
I like being surrounded by nature, whether in the city or in the countryside. As I grew up by the sea and Lake of Constance, I am particularly attracted to the combination of water and pleasant landscapes. Luckily, Munich is quite green and has a river and various lakes nearby. That’s already a big bonus, and I also enjoy the gastronomic offerings in and around the Bavarian capital.
What did you want to be when you were a child?
Well, I actually wanted to become a doctor… 🙂
How do you find out about news – print or online?
Mainly online, as it’s more accessible for me and I can gather information more quickly and at any opportunity.
