HBI continues to grow – our new team member is Nils Langewald. He brings experience from his volunteer work at AWAKE e.V. where he was already responsible for content creation. In this profile, Nils introduces himself and his professional and personal background.

Name: Nils Langewald

Study/Education:

I recently finished my bachelor’s degree in political science at the university of Innsbruck, Austria.

Work experience:

During my time in Innsbruck, I was working at HAFELE Catering GmbH as a service member. During my studies, I was engaged at the green office of the University where I was part of the newsletter group. Besides that, I am helping AWAKE e.V. writing their social media posts and creating their blog content. Since March 2022, I am working here at HBI.

What surprises us most about your CV?

I think the most surprising fact about my CV is that I am engaged in social and sustainable projects in my free time.

What do you expect in the first few months at HBI?

For my first month at HBI, I expect to enforce my practical skillset, moreover I am eager to learn plenty of new things about PR work. Within the traineeship, I hope to get a good overview of the work in a communication agency. Furthermore, I think with my young age I will bring some fresh wind into the office.

How do you imagine your PR work to look like?

Due to the number of clients HBI has, I hope to learn a lot of new things and expand my skillset. That’s why I´m already certain that I will improve my writing skills and become a valuable member of the team very soon.

Favorite Munich activity?

Since I moved to Munich just a few days ago, I don’t want to make a final call on that. But in my free time I really enjoy strolling around the city of Munich and doing sports, like surfing or cycling.

What do you find particularly fascinating about the technology industry?

I think its fascinating which opportunities exist to help yourself or others to reach their goals, especially in social media the technical progress is phenomenal.

Are you from Munich? Are you a local oda a “Zuagroasta”? 😉

I am a waschechter Zuagroasta. Originally, I´m from Hamburg but I grew up in Heidelberg the bigger part of my youth.

Would you rather be in the city or the countryside?

I really enjoy the urban life. I like it when there is a lot going on around me. And in case I need some time out I just grab my bike and go to the mountains nearby.

What did you want to be when you were a child?

I wanted to be different things from policeman over chef to being a carpenter. In school, I discovered my passion for politics which pass I followed in college.

What is your favorite social media Plattform?

I like using Twitter and Instagram to get involved in political discussions and to get connected with my friends. Moreover, I enjoy discovering new things.

How do you inform yourself about news – print or online?

I rely on 100% online media because it gives me the opportunity to see the bigger picture from different sources. Also, the social media profiles of the many different news papers help to find interesting articles.
